What is Gel Tag?
The game of Gel Tag has grown into a team sport and excellent party idea for adults or kids. It and can be like dodge ball but you wear a safety mask. Instead of eliminating your opponents with a rubber ball, you use a toy battery-powered blaster that fires water based pellets at a low velocity. Upon impact the gel balls disintegrate or bounce off of the target. Gel Tag is a super fun and safe alternative to paintball, airsoft, laser tag, arrow tag, and nerf guns. In short, teams are organized, safety gear is worn, rules are followed, and crazy excitement follows.

A regular electrical outlet within 100 feet of the setup area (used for p/a system and battery charging).
An open area outdoors (or in a gym) at least the size of a full basketball court.

Watch Commander Referees Each Game
Our trained Watch Commander will organize a variety of game types and supervise game play. This helps ensure safety and maximum game play for each player.
60 Minutes of Gellyball Fun
Our standard package includes 60 minutes of fun and excitement (additional time options are available.)
Unlimited Ammo and Complete Gear
Each player is equipped with a gel blaster, sanitized safety mask, and as many gel balls they need.
The Gear
- The blasters are strong and light weight.
- The trigger pressure required is easy for kids.
- Safety face masks are sanitized, adjustable, and protect eyes, face, and ears.
The Ammo
- 700+ shots per reload
- Lightweight and low velosity = low/no pain on impact
- No paint or mess to clean up
- The Gel balls that we use are biodegradable, non-toxic, and do not hurt animals or grass.
- The gel balls burst upon impact and virtually disappear. This means no mess to cleanup, unlike paintball.
The Playing Field
- Turn nearly any open space into a playing field. Minimum space needed is about that of a full sized basketball court.
- Bunkers and baricades that we setup on the playing field provide give strategic cover during gameplay.
- Gel Tag can even be played in a gym or large indoor area.

- One or more Watch Commanders to referee and organize each game.

- Extra players $25 each (covers equipment and unlimited ammo). Ask for details as an additional referee may be needed.

- 1) Extra gel tag game time is $155 each additional 30 minutes. This is sometimes needed for larger events with more players.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Reliable is the Blaster?
- The blasters are accurate to about 100 fee at a velocity ranging from 180-220 feet per second.
- The gel balls are gravity fed, so your blaster must be vertical for the balls to feed into it, not sideways.
- During the excitement of play, blasters sometimes gets jammed. Blockages are cleared by gently shaking the blaster up and down twice.
- When blasters do not work after trying to unjam it during a game, players just hold it above their head and walk to the safe zone and tell the ref.
Best age for Gel Tag?
This fun experience is designed for children starting at age 6 and up. Even adults enjoy the excitement.
How much space do you need?
We need an unobstructed area about the size of a basketball court. It can be outdoors or in a gym. Larger space is needed for larger teams. You also don’t need a lot of “cover”. We’ll supply bunkers and/or barricades to give the kids lots of places to run and hide.
Is Gel Tag like Nerf?
Gel Tag is a lot more fun than nerf wars. They are comparable in that you get to shoot ammo. However, the big difference is that you aren’t constantly having to pickup ammo from the ground to reload. Your blaster holds about 700 of the gel balls.
What is the dress code?
Each player should wear athletic close-toed shoes and athletic clothing.
Is Gel Tag like Paintball?
With this sport, you get all of the excitement of paintball without the mess, pain, and bruises of paintball.
How are payments handled?
When you confirm the online agreement, you submit your $75 deposit. Two days before the event, the balance remaining is charged to your credit card. There’s no need to worry about making a payment at the event when you are busy with your guests and kids.
Does it hurt?
The gel blaster uses low pressure to fire. Being tagged by a gel ball feels similar to someone snapping a rubber band on you. Often players are having so much fun they don’t always even realize they were hit.
Some players will wear long sleeves or long pants to reduce any sensation of being hit.
Are there any safety concerns?
Players must wear their masks for face and eye protection any time they are in the playing area / field. Players must also follow all of the announced rules as well as any instructions given by the Referee. Player compliance helps minimize any safety issues that can arise while players are running around during a sporting activity.
Is any yard preparation needed?
We need an open area about the size of a basketball court. If you have trees or obstacles in your yard, that is fine.
Do not apply any chemicals to your lawn for the 48 hours before your event.
Clear your yard of any animal waste.
Mark any holes or dips in the lawn that could possibly lead to injury.
Check the area for hazards like rocks, toys, tools, etc and remove them.
How many can play?
For good supervision we limit games to 10 players. For groups larger than 10, we rotate additional players in after each 5-8 minute long game. Larger teams are possible with an additional referee ($65). If that is needed, just ask when you book us.
Gel Tag Games Waiver
- All players need a waiver completed and is easy to do on your phone, tablet or computer.
- Minors need the waiver completed by a parent or guardian.
- All waivers are done electronically.
- Doing it in advance will speed up player check-in at the event leaving more time to play.
- Waivers expire after 12 months. So please complete a new one if needed.
- Please print or screenshot the waiver email confirmation that we send you to show at check-in.
